Frolo aims to bring single parents all together

by Startacus Admin

Frolo is a social networking app on a mission to connect single parents to likeminded single parents living in the same area...
We have written in the past about networks for parents to share news and tips, to meet up, and to simply talk with other parents. For example, Mush, a social network dedicated to new mums (and parents fullstop).
Single parenting, though, has its unique challenges.
One person raising a child alone is naturally going to have (as a general rule) a harder time. It’s already difficult for two parents to get any time to themselves, to go out for dinner, to take a weekend trip, or whatever it happens to be; reduce that to one, and suddenly it can become difficult to go to the shop for milk.
Factoring in things like work, friends, and dating, and it’s easy to see why single parents either forget to remember to have a life of their own, or they simply can’t find the time. This can easily lead to isolation and loneliness, which in turn can lead to, or exacerbate, mental health issues.
UK-based startup Frolo was born from this knowledge.
The app is a gateway to a community of single parents, and you can find like-minded, nearby mums and dads with shared interests and similar-aged children, giving you a better chance to get out and meet people and socialise.
So-cial-ise...that thing you used to do…? No? Well, Frolo - from ‘friends’ and ‘solo’ - will allow you to make new friends and even organise meetups, trips, and holidays, from a picnic in the local park to a trip to Cornwall because it’s been so long since you tasted Cornish ice cream and you need it and now you’ve thought about it you can’t stop thinking about it. For example.
As well as connecting with individuals, there is a community newsfeed for questions, guidance and advice, and share updates. We’ve all seen Facebook posts from people complaining about the amount of their friends posting things about their children and their parenting life; Frolo is the place to do just that, where the entire audience is interested and is doing the same.
You can sign up now to the Frolo Founding Member Waitlist App, and the first 1,000 people to sign up will become Frolo Founding Member and receive 6 months free when the Frolo app launches in the UK and Ireland in September.
We look forward to seeing how Frolo develops post its September launch and good luck to founder Zoë Desmond and the team!
