Friday Night Mash Up returns to Belfast

by Startacus Admin
We had a brilliant time at the last Friday Night Mashup Tech Meetup in Belfast and so are delighted to tell you that the team have just announced that the next event will be taking place on Friday June 13th at Titanic's Dock & Pumphouse – and of course it’s going to be bigger and better than ever!
For those of you who are unfamiliar, Friday Night Mashup is a regular event taking place in Belfast that brings together the best of Northern Irish tech startups and helps them to connect, demo, engage and empower. On a practical level there are loads of benefits to be had from attending. However, what we really like about Friday Night Mashup is its laid-back informal feel - tech innovators are given the opportunity to get together with mentors, investors and other like-minded folks in a relaxed social environment … and best of all it’s totally free!
Friday 13th of June
400 people are expected to attend on June 13th to hear speakers from the US tech investment and media scenes as well as the London-based head of Microsoft Ventures. Here’s a quick taster of who will be speaking;
• Jon Vanhala from Thesis Venture Studios who has worked with some of world's top music talent, including Jay-Z, Kanye West, Nikki Minaj and Rihanna
• Matthew Gonzales who is an advisor for appbackr - a platform with more than 200 million users worldwide
• Andy McCartney - the head of Microsoft Ventures who has 16 years hands-on development experience with a range of startups, including Belfast-based theAppBuilder
• Rounding up the event will be iconic figure of the local music scene and founder of the famous Good Vibrations record shop, Terri Hooley.
As if all of that wasn’t enough to tempt you, June’s event will be held in an alternative venue – a big top circus tent – with free beer and BBQ included … (so fingers crossed for some early summer sun!)
Friday Night Mashup organiser Katie McQuillan said: “This is set to be a great opportunity for entrepreneurs and innovators to learn from their peers, demo their tech and provide mentoring to startups in need of support.”
