Free Startup Day for wannabe Design and Craft Businesses

by Startacus Admin
Are you a recent UK Graduate Designer wanting to “Start, Run or Grow your own Design or Craft business”? If so, this free one-off event, could give you the foundations you need to draw together your big idea...Free and worthwhile stuff is always good we think (free and worthwhile being the clincher)! So when we heard about The Design Trust Start Up Day at New Designers, London (a 2 week Graduate Design Exhibition) we thought we’d better share. After all, collaboration and providing support is a key goal of Startacus (free and worthwhile plug done).
The Design Trust Start Up Day at New Designers, takes place on the 27th June so not long to go - “but who’s it for?” I hear you cry...
Well as outlined on the New Designers’ site, “This is an unmissable day for anybody thinking about, or who has recently started, freelancing or working on creating their own design or crafts business. You will get loads of business tips and free info from experts and successful designers and makers.”
Now we can’t promise you that it’s unmissable, after all you will have to make your own minds up on that, however the lineup and the promised content does admittedly look pretty good.
With a stellar line-up with many well known businesses and faces from the design, craft and creative industries and featuring Startacus favourites such as Medeia Cohan-Petrolino from School for Creative Startups and Maxine Horn of Creative Barcode, there is a good mix of presentations and discussions aiming to get you thinking and working on your big (or small) design or craft idea. And it’s free too! Here’s the link for you to check it all out.
So what if you can’t make it to London on the 27th June but want to still start, run or Grow your own Design or Craft business? Well for starters these posts written in fine ink and sweat by ourselves here at Startacus might help - from Starting a Craft Business - the basics to consider, news on Craft - the first trade event for designer makers, to our tips post on How to Price handmade goods and crafts - should help point you in the right direction too.
On top of that, take a look at the Startacus toolkit for loads of the tidbits, and bits and bobs you will need to do something with that ‘idea’.
If you like what you see here on Startacus, why not become a member of our growing community? It's free! And you'll get all this - exclusive access to our Business Toolkit, discounts and offers galore for your business via our member only business deals, the chance to network and connect with loads of fellow self-starters, and maybe even become our celebrated 'Self-Starter of the Week' and tell the world your startup tale!
