Frankie Health - reinventing mental health support in the workplace

The lowdown on Frankie Health, the Dublin-based healthtech startup that's on a mission to help employers support their employees' mental wellbeing
Mental health has finally started to become more widely accepted as an actual thing and spoken about openly, and that discussion is encouraged more and more.
With 1 in 4 people living with mental health issues and costing the global economy trillions, workplaces have started taking notice of mental health and looking into what they can do to help.
Whether this is because of employers’ humanity or because they see cogs that need oiling so that their machine will keep bringing in the money may depend on whom you ask, but any step in the right direction is a step.
Dublin-based health-tech startup Frankie Health is dedicated to helping those employers support their employees and to keep their workplace healthy and happy as best they can.
Frankie is a platform to connect your team members with therapists for online sessions and help employers anonymously keep an eye on overall morale and mental health. Therapists can use the Frankie suite of tools for free to take bookings and referrals, take payment, and hold video sessions all in one place.
As well as providing this confidential support to their team, employers can send out clinically validated general exercises, which not only helps their people to stay mindful, alleviate stress, etc., but also ensures that the work environment remains one that is outwardly accepting and supportive of those employees living with mental health issues. This gesture alone can be a valuable sign of support and solidarity.
Employees fill in clinical assessments to help Frankie understand them and to personalise their support, keep an eye (again, anonymously) on overall team morale and engagement, and it gives out preventative team ‘challenges’, such as 20-minute meditations, to try to help keep mental health from degrading.
In January, Frankie announced that it had raised $1.25 million, in a round led by Hong Kong-based E15 VC. Ahead of their Series A round in 2022, the startup will use this funding to grow their team and their reach.
