Fleex - remote working made better

by Startacus Admin
The lowdown on Fleex, the startup that helps companies provide remote employees with all they need to make working from home more comfortable
Anyone who is used to working in an office and has suddenly been forced to work at home for around a year now has likely felt the effects of an unsupportive or too-hard chair, hunched over with a laptop on your knees, bad lighting, or even missing necessary equipment, such as a printer.
It has been a big change for a lot of people, even before the mental aspect comes in, and while some have coped well with it, it has been more difficult for others. Some companies actually provide their employees with some of the things that they need to work from home, but many do not, and it is left to the individual to fork out of their own pocket to make their new home office a more comfortable and less physically unhealthy place to be.
French startup Fleex wants to help companies provide this range of necessities and comforts to their remote employees. The platform allows you, the employer, to create a catalogue full of products that you know would be of benefit to your employees, so that they can run through it and select which chair suits them best, which desk, what kind of monitor, etc.
There will be, in the future, more than furniture available, too: their catalogue can include things to improve the overall environment that the employee works in, including speakers, coffee machines, and even drinks and snacks. As they are getting started, though, they are keeping it simple with furniture and IT supplies.
When the employee chooses the products they want, Fleex themselves are responsible for every step. They send it, they cover any customer support that is needed regarding the product, and they will even come and move those products if the employee changes location, and set them up in the new place. Of course, the employee doesn’t own these products, and they must be sent back should they ever leave the company or stop remote working.
Recently, Fleex raised €1.7 million in a seed funding round, which they will use to help expand their range of clients and their product offerings. They have also joined eFounders, a business focused on helping startups get ahead.
We know what it’s like to suddenly have to work from home, in a setup more suited to the occasional evening or weekend work session, and how valuable something like Fleex will be to many people and to the companies supporting them.
