Do you know a woman who is doing amazing things in the field of technology? Then now is the time to recognise their success by nominating them for the FDM everywoman in Technology Awards.
Here’s all the info you will need! FDM everywoman in Technology Awards
Everywoman is a great organisation that is making it its mission to encourage and nurture the advancement of women in business and technology.
The FDM everywoman in Technology awards, aim to highlight the country’s most talented and successful woman in technology in the hope of inspiring the next generation of women to follow in their footsteps.
Now, normally we are very much against anything which so actively excludes a huge section of the community, however we agree with the folks at everywoman, in that a more concerted effort needs to be made to encourage women and girls to engage constructively with technology. To illustrate our point, did you know for example that just 27% of the UK digital workforce is female? You have to admit that in 2015, that is quite a shocking statistic!
One of the leading lights of the tech world Melissa Di Donato, has summed up the issue and the challenge rather well , “what you cannot be, you cannot see”, so in order for more girls and women to aspire to technological greatness, it’s vitally important that their achievements are highlighted to the world.
One of the ways by which everywoman are trying to do that is through their 2016 FDM Women in Technology Awards. On Tuesday 23 February at London Hilton on Park Lane everywoman will showcase the 11 chosen women who are doing extraordinary things.
You can lend a hand in showcasing some amazing women by nominating yourself or someone you admire to be considered for one of the awards.
The folks at everywoman especially want to hear from hear from IT apprentices, computer scientists, team leaders, entrepreneurs, web developers and more!
You have until Monday 26th October to get your nominations in so get cracking!
