FarmHand - agricultural innovation

by Startacus Admin
The farming data aggregator that is looking to give hard-working farmers a hand.

Glas Data is another such startup. Glas Data’s platform, FarmHand, is an open, simple-to-use, cloud-based ecosystem designed to unify agricultural data with no restrictions, for use both on mobile devices and home computers. This data is fully customisable to suit your farm, saving you time by automatically collecting everything together in one place, from sensors, drones, labs, and anything else that normally works in isolation.
The platform provides advanced data analysis and offers access to research data, allowing you the insights and educated decision-making to boost productivity with higher crop yields. Clear and simple visualisation helps you to make quick decisions, as does the ability to compare your data to that of a handful of other sources, including your own past productivity and yield. Adding to this is the ability to add friends and compare to a farm group. Such peer-to-peer comparison provides not only insight, but support and perhaps a little healthy competition.
This Cornwall-based startup is a product of the Falmouth incubator-accelerator, Launchpad, which we wrote about in June. With a solid platform promising a big helping hand to overworked farmers, and the backing of Launchpad, we expect a high yield from this startup (we may be running low on farming puns at this point)!
