Farewill - wills made simple

by Startacus Admin
Say farewell to traditional will writing. Farewill is set to disrupt the industry with its cheaper, simpler, online process. Starting at £50 and for about 12 minutes, you can sit in the comfort of your own home and write out your will, print it out and sign it, and forget about it.
As well as being quick and easy, the process is free of legal jargon and complexity, while still being everything you’ll need (and legally binding, of course), and can be updated whenever you need for £5 a year.

According to Farewill’s blog, 88% of parents in the UK have not appointed a guardian for their children in the event of death, and 97% of people don’t have an up to date will at all. This document is important for everyone left behind you, even if you yourself don’t care much about what happens to your stuff and things. The grieving period is bad enough without the headache of working out what has to be done with the house, the car, the money, the photo albums, Fluffles and Mr Hoppington, the money, the assorted accumulations of a lifetime, and the money. And it only gets worse if you are leaving behind multiple children and/or siblings - families have torn themselves apart over these things. So if only to give yourself the peace of mind that you won’t have to come back and haunt your children into submission, make a will!
Farewill is backed by investors from London-based Kindred Capital and SAATCHiNVEST, and by the founders of Wonga and Zoopla. Although launched last November, the startup has spent the last months redesigning, with the help of the well-respected Koto, and relaunched on 20 June.
Although they may go a little overboard with claims of being ‘exciting’ (we’re only talking about writing a will, after all), Farewill does away with the daunting proposition and pricing of will writing, making it easy and fast, and it would be perhaps a grave mistake (sorry) to pass them over.
