Facebook LDN_LAB goes live with 7 UK tech startups

by Startacus Admin
At the end of last year (think 2017) Facebook announced they were on the search for the
most exciting tech startups in the country to join them at LDN_LAB from Facebook, a dedicated incubator space at their brand spanking new London offices.
Last week they announced the first UK tech startups that have started on 12 week programme, and this being Facebook, the startups selected for the programme all focused on something Facebook cares about: community.
For the LDN_LAB programme, Facebook were looking for applications from companies that are using technology to build platforms and products that connect people, build communities and bring people closer together. Applications had to demonstrate that their company was dedicated to forming new communities that couldn't exist before and uniting people around a certain topic, passion or cause.
So from last week, 7 UK tech startups started the 12-week programme which aimed at helping the startups achieve their business goals, with training and mentorship from our Facebook team and a range of other top professionals.
The 7 tech startups who joined Facebook’s inaugural LDN_LAB incubator were:
Tabl: An online marketplace for independent food, drink and experiences.
Mush: An app for mums (and all parents) that's aims to make you a part of your local mum community. We recently featured Mush on Startacus.
Teacherly: A revolutionary online collaborative lesson planning platform and peer to peer coaching platform.
OLIO: An app and platform that connects neighbours with each other and with local shops so surplus food and other items can be shared, not thrown away.
GoodGym: A fast growing social startup which channels the energy wasted during exercise into social good.
Sharecare: Connects a community of volunteers to provide elderly people with support for everyday tasks.
Rabble: Getting more people into fitness by disguising exercise as games.
Good luck to the first seven startups to take part in the new LDN_LAB incubator and we look forward to seeing what comes from this new community themed Facebook programme.
