Essential Christmas Gifts for a Startup Founder

by Startacus Admin
Tis the season to be jolly - and also probably spend a small fortune!
Since I am writing this article in my capacity as the Co-Founder of a startup, I admittedly have a self professed interest in the subject of suggestions on possible gifts that you may wish to buy the Startup Founder or Co-Founder in your life. (Apologies for the lack of subtlety team!)
So without further ado, check out this light hearted look at the type of gifts that may suit the entrepreneur in your life this Christmas. Pay heed to this and we can all have a Merry Business!
A diary
Multi-tasking is pretty much the norm for any startup founder so there is nothing more valuable than having a visual reminder of where you are supposed to be at any given time and who you are supposed to be meeting or calling or skyping. A diary may be a pretty basic present but it’s a valuable one, especially if multi-tasking is not one of your natural talents. If of course a diary is too old school for you (or them), then why not download a Diary App instead - it does what is says on the tin / screen.
A tablet / phone / PDD.
So, talking tech - how about a Portable. Digital. Device. If you win one or have one already, or so happen to be a very generous or already rich coworker - a tablet, phone as we like to call ‘em portable digital device is a rather handy instrument for the modern startup founder - after all how else can one do work-on-the-go. So if you feel like being a very generous friend/ partner/ employee - a tablet / phone / PDD is always rather nice :)
A business book
Although potentially full of cliché business power words and phrases, a business book, apart from sitting nicely on the shelves of a bookshop, can actually do a really good job of helping a startup founder...start up. Here’s a handy link to a previous article we wrote on some of our fave business books.
Coffee
Alongside a good phone, a good laptop and somewhere to sit - coffee and coffee related products will come a close second. The absolute necessity for many a startup founder. We ran a promo with the good folk over at Honest Coffees earlier this year offering 50% off their coffee subscription service - and we recommend good coffee and possibly an all round supply as an altogether fab Christmas pressie full stop.
Meal Voucher
N.B Subtle link to one of our Startaclaus giveaways included (NB - see link at bottom of article for more info).
Startup founders like to eat nice food (one would assume that is generally the case) and they also like to make loads of valuable and worthwhile contacts. So, take a bow Tablecrowd who do just that. (By the way, they also happen to be giving two dinner tickets away as part of our Startaclaus 12 days of business giveaways!)
An all inclusive holiday to a warm climate for at least two weeks
One can only hope!
The gift of giving
One cannot underestimate the value of the support from friends, family and employees who work hard in developing and supporting the growth of a startup business. All year round these good folk often support for free or work for lower than the national average, and give more than the 110% you may expect. Let’s hope that the gift of ‘thanks and appreciation’ is also passed in their direction too. Presents or otherwise, the Startup Founder (me included) has them - people just like YOU to thank. Merry Business!
Talking of Merry Business - you might want to (depending on when you read this fab article) to take a read over the recent news that from Thursday 4th December and for 12 glorious days - we will be running 12 days of business giveaways with the help of 12 super brands and a jolly fellow called Startaclaus. Intrigued? Read on!
