Embargo - the app that's making customers' loyalty count

by Startacus Admin
Our look at Embargo, the London-based startup that's created an innovative loyalty app to help you get to know your customers and retain them too...
We have written more times than we can count about how important it is to treat customers like people rather than ATMs, keeping in touch with them in a more personal way than the generic ‘Why haven’t you given us money lately’ emails other businesses send out.
This is a lot easier for a small startup with a dozen or two clients than it is for a bigger business with, ideally, hundreds or thousands of customers, but as with anything else, technology can significantly ease the strain of keeping up with so many people.
London-based tech startup Embargo has created this kind of technology with its platform to help you get to know your customers, increase loyalty and retention, and stay in touch with them.
Embargo is multi-faceted: it gives you the ability to create loyalty reward systems to drive repeat business; its data insights help you to get to know and understand your customers and what they want, gauge their loyalty, and understand what you can do to improve your business; and its communication abilities allow you to reach out to new customers, try to bring back old customers who have stopped coming to you, and to stay in touch with the regulars who represent the backbone of your business. It is a powerful platform that only takes 5 minutes to set up and the app takes care of the rest.
The Embargo app keeps customers’ information safe, and allows them to take advantage of your loyalty scheme from their phone without the need to remember to bring a dogeared loyalty card to get stamped. Because the app allows any user to browse businesses they haven’t seen before, it will help your visibility and organically attract new customers. Of course, in the current situation, the fact that all of this is entirely contactless from start to finish is also an appeal.
Since launching in 2018, Embargo has signed up new brand names on an almost exponentially increasing basis, bringing their client base to more than 500 hospitality businesses, including cafés, bars, and restaurants. Some of their most recent big names include The Gentlemen Baristas, Thunderbird Fried Chicken, and Notes Coffee and Bars.
