EDP searching for startups to join the Starter Acceleration Program

EDP, one of Europe's major electricity operators is currently looking for startups for their new EDP Starter Acceleration Program.
If you are a startup looking at; energy storage, clean energy, smart grids, client focused solutions, digital innovation and innovative internal processes this program could be for you.
Energy sector focused startups will get the chance to work together with EDP with new solutions that can contribute to the transformation of the energy sector.
Offering startups the opportunity to gain traction and generate business with EDP, through a series of 3-5 day tech trial in Europe, LATAM, and North America. A selected group of the startups that participate in the three modules will then be invited to a Grand Final at the largest tech conference in the world, Web Summit in Lisbon, Portugal.
Working in partnership with innovation specialists L Marks and ACE, EDP are looking to build on the success of previous innovation programs. The Starter Acceleration Program will enable EDP to find promising new technologies and innovative ideas focused in six categories: client focused solutions, digital innovation, energy storage, clean energy, smart grids and innovative internal processes.
The global call for startups is now open with the first module taking place in Madrid, Europe in June, the second in São Paulo, LATAM in July, and the third in Houston, north America in September. The final event will take place in Lisbon in November at the Web Summit.
From solutions that increase the energy supply and promote energy efficiency, data collection, extracting value from it and keeping it secure, energy storage technologies, design and optimization tools, renewable energy technologies, smart grids and building innovative internal processes, from workflows to deal flows, EDP will offer startups the chance to test their solution in the energy sector itself.
Offering startups access to a wider pool of mentors and experts, feedback and insight into your product/service and business, time to develop a relevant proof of concept, and potential investment by EDP Ventures, this is an exciting opportunity that might ultimately lead to an initiate a commercial rollout with EDP globally! Think big, after all!
