Earnr - bookkeeping for the self-employed

Small business owner or creator and hate doing your tax returns? London-based fintech startup Earnr has created a platform that can help...
Tax returns. Anyone who doesn’t throw these at an accountant to do for them knows the stress of seeing the tax deadline approaching and knowing they’ve done a bad job of keeping their books up to date.
Despite it turning out to be simpler and quicker than we expect every single year, every single year it feels like a big weight on us that we put off and put off until we have no choice but to get on with it. What if there was a way to keep the simplicity of having someone else do your returns for you without actually having to send them off and pay an accountant?
London-based fintech startup Earnr has developed a platform for us to do just this.
Designed especially for small businesses, creators, and those with secondary sources of income, Earnr automates your tax return for you and the whole process can be done and dusted for another year in just 17 minutes. For users with under £3,000 income, the service is completely free, and for anyone who earns over that, there is a flat rate of £99.
The app connects to your bank accounts so that you can mark income and business expenses easily, add notes, upload receipts, search and filter, and keep business and personal spending separate. The app provides all kinds of metrics and charts and graphs so that you can understand your spending habits versus your income, and keep an eye on your real-time estimated tax.
In December, Earnr announced that it had raised £650,000 in a funding round from Antler, FJ Labs, and angel investors. This funding will go towards further developing the app, growing their team, and onboarding more users.
