Dublin Launch48

by Startacus Admin
Attend a typical startup or business event and you’ll generally come away with something - new contacts perhaps, new ideas or at the very least some business cards of people that you’ve met. There’s one event though where attendees generally come away with a lot more - they leave with a business. Yes - a tangible business.Launch48 takes place over a weekend and has one major goal - to enable the pitching, building and launching of a startup in a 48 hour period.
Attendees form groups or teams comprising about 10 people from varying backgrounds and with different skillsets. Working together with the Launch48 mentors they spend the weekend taking an idea and making it into a business. All the critical elements of a business are looked at - from planning, marketing and PR through to design, finance and development.
Here’s a short video that gives a little taster of what a Launch48 weekend is like.

Like the look of that? Well, the good news is that if you’re in Ireland there’s one happening next month that you might just want to get along to.
The Dublin event takes place at the Guinness Enterprise Centre from Friday 28th June to Sunday 30th June 2013 and tickets cost €48 - there are also concessionary student tickets available.
It’s a pretty reasonable ticket price when you consider how you’ll benefit from attending. Not only will you have amazing networking opportunities and access to leading mentors, you’ll also be leaving with a business! The fact that several meals and drinks over the course of the weekend and a Launch48 goodie bag worth over €3500 are included too surely makes this one of those must-not-miss events.
Tickets can be booked now and as spaces are limited, if you’re interested in attending, we reckon that old adage of “Buy Now to Avoid Disappointment” certainly will apply!
