Dream Academy - the business mentoring programme for refugees and asylum seekers

Migrant Help and The Supper Club collaborate to create ‘Dream Academy’ to help refugees and asylum seekers to achieve their dreams and aspirations
A new business mentoring programme has just been launched by Migrant Help, an organisation dedicated to protecting people affected by displacement and exploitation and helping individuals to thrive irrespective of circumstance and The Supper Club - a high net worth networking group that has served its membership of ambitious entrepreneurs for 18 years and was created for founders to share experience and practical advice to help each other achieve their goals.
The Dream Academy will see the two organisations partnering to deliver essential 1:1 mentoring sessions to Migrant Help clients to help them overcome the challenges and barriers that entrepreneurs face in the UK environment and realise their business dreams.
Nearly 100 people have signed up to be coached by one of 16 Dream Academy mentors, all successful entrepreneurs that have overcome challenges, many from an immigrant background, and are now in a position to extend a helping hand to the ambitious cohort at the start of their journey.
The collaborative coaching is designed to facilitate opportunities for growth, development and goal setting among refugees. Dream Academy mentors include Peter Bell, Founder of The Commercial Tenants Association, Fleur Hicks, CEO of onefourzero, Sohin Raithath, CEO of tech start-up Redsquid and Tosin Akingbolagun, Founder of Underdog,
Caroline O’Connor, Chief Executive Officer of Migrant Help said; “Everyone’s dream is important, no matter where they are from. Whether personal or career-driven, dreams give our lives purpose and help to build toward the future with a sense of control and hope. Working with the Supper Club to deliver one-to-one mentoring will open up new ways of working for our clients and see them drive results. Despite the hyperconnected world we live in, it’s not easy for our clients to find a sounding block that they have synergy with. The Dream Academy provides essential collaboration between entrepreneurs of similar background and points clients in the right direction.”
A great initiative! We look forward to seeing the impact that The Dream Academy will have on all the participants!
