Don’t Pitch Me Bro!

by Startacus Admin
Don’t Pitch Me Bro! With a tagline of “Get the feedback your product deserves, not the feedback your pitch earns” we thought this pitching / networking event in London deserved a look...
A great idea doesn’t necessarily mean a great (and profitable) business. Nor does pitching your said fab idea to your friends and family, who in X-Factor like tradition are likely to reckon their best mate’s, son’s, daughter’s idea really rocks.
So what do you do? Well we reckoned this alternative pitching / networking / support event, based in London was worth a shout out.
Don't Pitch Me Bro! organised by the very active 3 Beards, is a monthly event where you can get up (in front of others of course) and chat about and demo your startup business.
Their aim is that apart from validating the good stuff about your idea, you can get help, advice and ideas about the bits of your startup that will make the big difference and you are perhaps struggling with.
So stuff like:
-
Product/market fit
-
Customer acquisition
-
Customer development
-
Marketing
-
PR
-
Usability
-
Minimum Viable Product
The next Don’t Pitch Me Bro event is this Thursday (29th Aug) so it might be a tad too late to apply to showcase or demo your startup and even get in the audience to look, listen and perhaps offer advice, but as this is a monthly organised event, you can apply now to demo at a future meetup.
“Demo” - being the key word here as the 3 Beard guys are keen to emphasise that this is not a “death by powerpoint / slide desk” pitch event. If you want feedback on what you are doing, you are going to need to get to the nuts and bolts, the nitty gritty of what your product / service will be - and show your wares, not simply dazzle everyone with your growth forecasts and market share predictions.
So there you have it - summary done. Now perhaps take a look via this rather handy direct link.
