Does RunTheCEO have the legs to create meaningful connections?

by Startacus Admin
We are liking the idea of RunTheCEO. Connecting startups & entrepreneurs with leading CEO's through running, RunTheCEO gives
startup founders the opportunity to pitch their businesses to leading CEO’s through an exclusive running event.
It’s certainly a fresh way for meeting and greeting with CEO’s that you would perhaps otherwise meet in a meeting room - all suited and booted.
The pitch here is that this style of ‘democratised’ pitching, allows everyone from the CEOs through to the Startups the chance to meet, run and chat in an informal, personlised but worthwhile environment. However, one assumes with RunTheCEO, that you do have to be able to do the run, and ‘keep up’ so that the meeting keeps on track.
We’ve certainly seen more bizarre pitch opportunities to be fair. Last week we featured Polar Bear Pitching - a pitch event where entrepreneurs have to give their pitches while standing waist deep in ice cold water on a stage carved in the frozen Baltic Sea.
Whether this style of pitching has the legs to become mainstream, we are not too sure, but who’d have thought that the parkrun phenomenon would have grown so big?
Launched last week in London, we look forward to hearing more about RunTheCEO as it develops. To us the most natural step would be to also democratise the Startup and VC Investor meetup (at least the first general chitchat one anyway), so perhaps RunTheInvestor might be next on the agenda (A case of walk before you can run perhaps).
Either way, we applaud the the two co-founders Olivia and Alex for this initiative - we hope the idea runs... (you can also watch their promo video below)
