Meetings aren’t the most loved things in business, but they are an important part of running a company, and if we’re going to have them, we might as well make the most of them.

That means having everyone on the same page, keeping everyone apprised of the agenda, what to expect to be brought up (also known as an agenda), what they might be asked about and what they’ll update everyone on (also known as an agenda), and so on. Particularly in the current climate of remote working and online meetings, having everyone prepared can help make meetings go more smoothly.

Indianapolis-based startup Docket knows this, and has created a meeting-focused workspace for collaborative agenda creation, decision documentation, and action item tracking.

While integrating with existing tools such as Slack and Zoom, Docket gives you its own workspace where you can take notes and read through the meeting minutes, helping to ensure you don’t need a hundred different windows and documents open throughout the meeting.

A daily digest and historical archive give you all of your notes past and present to make sure that you are fully prepared for your meetings and that you can easily find the points brought up in previous meetings whenever you need, and a Task Manager gives every a simple list of steps and actions to be taken.

Zoom has become the go-to platform for online meetings during the lockdown, and in May it was announced that Docket had won first place in Zoom’s Marketplace App Competition, which was held for companies that added to and improved Zoom’s own functionality. The prize was up to $2m in funding from venture firms involved - Emergence, Horizons Ventures, Maven Ventures, and Sequoia Capital - as well as all sorts of Zoom-related products and sessions.

With such simple integration resulting in such useful added functionality, it’s easy to see why Docket was the winner, and we think as remote meetings continue, their platform will be a great advantage to a lot of us.
