Do today what you keep writing to do tomorrow

David Friel, Managing Director of the Entrepreneur Handbook gives Startacus four quick tips for entrepreneurs on getting done the things you need to do...
Since setting up Entrepreneur Handbook about 10 months back the one enemy I have encountered on a frequent basis is avoidance. By this I mean when you avoid doing something because it’s boring or you haven’t exactly figured out how to do it yet. It inevitably appears on your to do list for the next three months. This blog is about how you can combat this and get done what you need to.
Learn, Learn and Learn some more…
If you’re avoiding something because you don’t understand it, learn! For instance accounts, insurance proposals and trademarks are all things in the last year I have avoided and also successfully completed. I had little to no knowledge on these matters before, all it took was some good old learning to get them done! Youtube, Books, Radio and even Podcasts can be useful.
Hire a Freelancer
If you are not a specialist and don’t have the time to do something, outsource it! I now have a great guy who does our social media full time. I don’t stress about it anymore and it’s something I never have to worry about. Social media is just one example there are a range of tasks you can outsource effectively.
Drink Tea
Don’t use energy drinks! Drink Tea! It’s good for you and has lots of energy. I drink Oolong or Green tea and its better, lasts longer and has no come down compared to energy drinks. It helps me keep going and concentrate over long periods of time.
Music
Find something with a rhythm you can either listen to intently, hum to or all out sing! Keep the lyrics to a minimum though and at the right beats per minute it will enhance your work pace and focus. It also distracts you if you’re doing something mind numbingly boring.
In essence do today the things you write down and try to avoid. The tips and tricks above should hopefully help with this but your need to find you own rhythm. Keep being an awesome, effective and sleep depraved Entrepreneur.
