Got an idea for a digital innovation that could be applied to the fashion industry? Well, this comp might be worth a look. The British Fashion Council, IC tomorrow and the Tech City Investment Organisation have just launched the Digital Innovation Contest - Fashion in a bid to discover new innovations and ideas that could be developed and used within the fashion sector. The competition will see 4 businesses being awarded up to £25,000 to be used to develop their ideas into commercial prototypes.
The great thing about this contest is that it is open to anyone - you don’t have to be an existing developer or startup or be in any way involved in the fashion industry currently. The main stipulation though is that you have a good idea - an idea that fits in with one of the contest’s challenges and themes which are:
Challenge one: mass personalisation and customisation
Challenge two: intelligent clothing & accessories
Challenge: the mall of the future
Challenge: Creating a Communal and responsive experience through mobile technology
Your idea must relate specifically to one of these challenges but most importantly most show real innovation, ingenuity and have true commercial potential. The application process consists of completing an online application form and also making a 2 minute video submission. Interested? You can apply via this link and must have your entry in by noon on Wednesday 12 June 2013.
Good luck if you do! We’ll be watching this contest with interest! If you like what you see here on Startacus and want to get involved yourself, why not become a member of our growing community by joining for free here!
