Developing Experts makes science a class lesson

by Startacus Admin
Developing Experts empower teachers and parents to teach science with confidence and ease, with an ever-growing library of interactive, online science lessons.
Norwich-based startup Developing Experts provides children of 4-14 years old an ever-growing library of more than 700 interactive, online science lessons, including handouts, fun experiments, and assessment for learning activities.
These are all fully mapped against multiple curricula, including the Science National Curriculum Key Stage 1, KS2, and KS3. These lessons apply to the classroom as well as to homeschooling or additional learning from home. The assessment tools enable teachers to easily track each child's progress through interactive online science quizzes. Child and parent can also revisit their science lesson content from home, in a more relaxed and personal environment.
These lessons are designed with the help of world-class experts from within industry and global universities. Every lesson ends with a simple, hands-on activity. All of this means the lessons and practical experiments themselves are more fun, and the lessons are run through with imagery-enhanced stories to really bring them to life. Of course, because these lessons are for the home as well as class, the experiments and investigations are designed so that they can be conducted at home as well, using everyday materials.
Particularly for those teaching from home, science may not be your strongest subject, but Developing Experts makes sure that their simple-to-use teaching and learning platform means you don’t need to be a world-class scientist or specialist teacher in order to deliver these lessons.
And, of course, the lesson planning, research, and experiment concocting are done for you, saving you time and meaning that all you need to do is open up the ready-made lesson plan and get teaching.
Developing Experts was a part of Tech Nation’s recent Rising Stars competition, and they pitched just the other day at the final. You can still watch their live streamed pitch to see how they did.
If you need any further evidence that this kind of take-it-anywhere, entertaining educational method is growing in recognition and respect, Derry-based Makematic just secured £1m seed funding for their bitesize educational animations and live action videos.
The future of education looks bright, and certainly seems more set than ever to develop experts! (Okay, that was a stretch, we admit).
