DeadHappy - the insurtech that's changing attitudes to death

by Startacus Admin
The lowdown on DeadHappy, the insurtech platform where you can take out life insurance and make, share, and fund deathwishes at the same time!
Death is not a favoured topic of conversation, but it is something that happens to everyone. As certain as taxes and almost as frightening, the one thing that every single person has in common is that we will die.
While we might not want to think about that, we have a responsibility to do so for those we leave behind - we need to take out life insurance and decide what we want to happen when we die. Whether this is a requirement for the use of the money you leave to someone, the kind of funeral you want, or the demand that a 30-foot statue be slapped down in the middle of your town to remind everyone of the golden god that you were, it all needs to be recorded while you’re still alive. This is your deathwish.
Leicester-based insurtech startup DeadHappy has created a platform on which you can both take out life insurance and make a deathwish quickly and easily. The startup’s deathwishes are a way of ensuring that you have one final say in what happens after you die, and as mentioned previously they can be as simple as what music is played at your funeral to more detailed wishes like exactly how the money you leave will be used.
The insurance side of the platform is designed to be simple and stress-free, with only 4 health questions to answer that will take 5 minutes. Prices and payouts are flexible, and packages come with a 10-year payout guarantee that can be rolled over for another 10 years - the platform is designed to be flexible and mindful of how things can change.
Currently, DeadHappy is crowdfunding on Seedrs, and with 22 days left at the time of writing, they have already hit 104% of their £5,100,007 target, with over 400 investors taking part. This shows not only how ready for disruption the £3.7 billion life insurance market is, but also how much people want an open, simple, and unexpectedly fun and humorous platform like DeadHappy.
