Data Startup Accelerator Programme Winton Labs

Data Startup Accelerator Programme
Is your startup working in the fields of client relationship management (CRM), data management & visualisation, or compliance and governance?
If so, this brand new no-equity accelerator programme in London is well worth a look.
Winton Labs
Winton Labs is an exciting new collaboration between innovation consultant and tech investor L Marks and global investment management business Winton, which will see up to 10 start-ups take part in a 10-week programme of support aimed at delivering growth and development.
What’s on offer?
Startups who are granted a place on the accelerator will be treated to a broad range of support from Winton’s team of executives, as well as leading industry figures covering key areas such as operational advice, accounting, marketing, and legal counsel. Based out of Winton’s West London offices shortlisted startups will also have access to the firm’s impressive network of industry leaders in science, technology, and data analytics.
Here’s a quick summary.
-
Mentoring from Winton's data scientists and entrepreneurs
-
Office space at Winton’s headquarters in Hammersmith
-
Lots of workshops and events hosted by Winton and guest speakers
-
Introductions to the data community and networking
-
The chance to explore further investment opportunities from Winton Ventures
Refreshingly, this is a no-equity accelerator meaning that Winton will not ask for a share of the businesses that take part, but if an investment is something you want to pursue, there will be the potential opportunity to receive funding from Winton, and the chance to partner with the firm once the accelerator is over. There will also be a demo day at the end of the programme, giving startups the chance to tell the world about what they are doing!
Who Should Apply?
The folks at Winton Labs are on the look-out for startups which have innovations addressing one or more of the following categories:
-
Client Relationship Management (CRM)
-
Data Management and Visualisation
-
Compliance and Governance
They are also hosting a wildcard category which is for startups that don’t necessarily fit precisely into the above categories, but which have a great innovation that is strongly connected to the data space.
Here’s what Winton Ventures Director Owen McCormack had to say about the new programme:
“The challenge with having a great idea for many entrepreneurs is taking it from concept to product or from an initial product to a thriving and scalable business. Our accelerator programme aims to match these innovators with the industry players that have had years of experience and to connect these promising enterprises to the real marketplace. At Winton, we have built a global investment business based on applying the scientific method to the study of data. We believe that we can apply this experience to investing in companies whose business models are predicated on data analysis and are active investors committed to the long-term success of the businesses in which we invest. To that end, our investment is more than just early stage funding so we are delighted to be one of the first investment businesses in the UK to provide tangible, practical support to some of the most innovative young businesses being developed today.”
How to Apply?
It would be wonderful to see some startups from the Startacus community take part in Winton Labs, so if it sounds like you might just have the innovation they are looking for, you can find out all the info you will need here and you can make your application here.
Applications close on February 21st, so get your startup skates on, and best of luck!
