Culture Amp launch Diversity and Inclusion Starter Kit to bring best practices to UK businesses

by Startacus Admin
The lowdown on the latest support which Culture Amp is providing to businesses to keep on top of Diversity and Inclusion within their organisations...
The people and culture platform Culture Amp is enabling more businesses and employees in the UK to avail of Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) best practices by giving them access to the D&I section of its platform for free.
The new D&I Starter Kit provides a template to help companies of all sizes gather insightful feedback from employees, better understand emerging voices of diverse and under-represented groups inside the organisation, and thereby enable businesses to create positive change for diversity through meaningful and measurable actions.
It’s a busy time for the Culture Amp folk since they have also just launched their 2019 Workplace Diversity, Inclusion & Intersectionality Report .
By gathering opinions from almost 35,000 respondents worldwide, they have identified that there is a significant data deficit in respect of in-company D&I policies.
At a global geographical level, there is little consistency in how data around race, ethnicity, parenting status or disability are collected or measured. For example, European based-organisations dealing with varying language, terminology, and regulatory issues are less likely to be gathering the same breadth and depth of diversity data as US-based companies. However business leaders on both continents are becoming increasingly focused on the importance of understanding ways they can help narrow the gap.
One example from the report showed that while 70% of straight white men believe their views are reflected in a company’s decision-making, only 52% of LGBT women agree. Also, 54% of straight white women say they have an impact on decision making at a company compared to 69% of straight white men.
Understanding and acting on workforce diversity is becoming increasingly important in corporate agendas for a number of reasons including underlying demographic change with recent UK academic research suggesting that ethnic minorities will comprise 35-40% of the UK population by 2061.
Culture Amp co-founder and CEO Didier Elzinga said, “Launching the Diversity & Inclusion Starter Kit is extremely important to us for two reasons. Firstly, it is not just a survey - it is a complete end-to-end toolkit to drive action, and secondly, it directly delivers against our mission to improve the world of work in ways that go beyond merely building a software company.”
Elzinga continued, “Making our tools and best practices freely available will help countless organisations to begin or continue on their journeys towards being a better and more inclusive workplace, and to helping them to put ‘culture first’.”
Serving more than 2,500 global customers, Culture Amp is the world’s leading People & Culture Platform. To date, it has undertaken more than 34,000 surveys, surveyed over 3 million employees and has a database of more than 163 million survey responses.
Pretty impressive stats!
And having recently raised US $82million in a Series E funding round, we reckon that there will be plenty of impressive stats still to come in the years ahead.
