Crowdfunding- The Element Cube

by Startacus Admin
Crowdfunding is a really remarkable thing isn’t it? It give some of the seemingly most unusual and unlikely of products, services, and innovations, to gain massive financial backing within a matter of days. It essentially cuts out the guesswork, and blind faith which has traditionally been a large part of the investment process.
It also highlights many an unusual and thought provoking invention… like this one!
The Element Cube
The element cube, which is being crowdfunded at the moment on Kickstarter, is a little metal cube which contains every collectible element in existence- also available in jewelry form, apparently. Hailed by its creator Cillian McMinn as ‘A testament to science’ The Element cube uses a fancy process called ‘powder metallurgy’ whereby all of the 62 metals contained within it are pulverized into powdered form and then pressed together under extremely high pressure, to form a perfect little silvery cube; an item which contains more elements that any other ever created by mankind.
The elements within the cube are…

What’s the Point of it?
You might be wondering to yourself ‘who on earth would want to buy such a thing?’ but in the true spirit of crowdfunding The Element cube has proven its own worth by managing to reach, and indeed vastly exceed its own funding target. At the time of writing, there is still 8 days left to go, and Cillian has managed to raise over £60,000, against an original target of £2,500
We’d say that’s pretty much a resounding success.
