According to the most recent figures released by leading crowd finance data source Crowdsurfer our partners Crowdfunder are now officially the largest crowdfunding platform in the UK having seen more successful campaigns than any other within the last ten month period!
This great news coincides with the announcement that Crowdfunder are embarking on their own crowdfunding campaign, seeking £1M investment via the world's largest platform Crowdcube! If successful, the capital raised will be used to significantly expand the business.
The managing director of crowdfunder is Phil Geraghty; he had this to say on the decision to crowdfund “Since 2012 we have grown Crowdfunder by a factor of 10, and become the UK's #1 crowdfunding platform* - raising over £10 million for thousands of businesses, social enterprises, charities and individuals across the UK. We currently have 975 projects looking for £12.4million on the site, this investment would enable us to turn more of those ideas into reality."
Since the beginning of 2015 Crowdfunder has facilitated 2,400 successful crowdfunding campaigns which constitutes more than double the number completed by the next 21 UK rewards platforms combined. (Period: 01.01.2015 - 28.10.2015).
Building on Previous Success
This is not the first time that Crowdfunder has used crowdfunding as a way of raising capital: last year the team managed to raise over £500K in just three hours with 367 investors coming on board including many high profile organisations including from 367 Creative England, Nesta, and founding investor, Plymouth University.
The platform has an incredibly ambitious plan for the future and will use the money raised to grow the business 6-fold within the coming year.
Chairman Rob Love said : "With this investment, we want to grow the company by six times, and help over 150,000 projects across the next three years. By the third year, we'd like to be raising over £100million for projects across the UK."
Finding the right supplier for your business can seem daunting when those you are looking at are overseas. So here are some things to think about when starting a relationship with and working with an overseas supplier.
