Crowdcube raise more than £10 Million for UK Business

by Startacus Admin
Back at the end of May, we announced the launch of our crowdfunding portal in partnership with leading UK crowdfunding platform Crowdcube. Our aim was to provide a dedicated crowdfunding portal for both new startups and established businesses.
And as of last week, we were chuffed to hear that Crowdcube has become the first equity crowdfunding platform in the world to raise more than £10m for businesses (£10,162,060 to be precise).
In the first 6 months of 2013, total investment in British businesses through Crowdcube’s web-based platform increased by 579% compared to the first 6 months of 2012. During the same period, the number of funded deals doubled and the average investment per pitch increased by 121% to £2,700.
Raising equity is a tough call for many startups and small businesses and Crowdcube offers a good alternative to the traditional financing and equity route. We were therefore delighted to hear that Crowdcube has become a ‘world first’ - after all we want to partner and link with all the best business services out there to support our virtual workspace.
Our next objective is to further develop the Startacus platform to fully incorporate a virtual incubation space where people with ideas can connect and engage directly with the handholders, services and mentors that can make those ideas a reality - and hopefully become the next Crowdcube projects and success stories going forward.
A big high five to Crowdcube from Startacus!
