Crover - technology to reduce grain storage losses

by Startacus Admin

Crover - The AgriTech startup that's aiming to reduce grain storage losses by identify grain disease or spoilage at the earliest opportunity

Next up is Edinburgh-based startup Crover. Crover has developed a system to monitor grain stores to ensure that any sign of disease or spoilage is picked up on as early as possible.
Crover say that they are the inventors of and only experts in granular locomotion, and their patent-pending technology is based on years of granular matter research.
The Crover solution is a small robotic device that moves about grain silos with a suite of sensors and science. It monitors grain silos in real time, and is able to give exact data on the local conditions inside, across the whole store of grain, rather than estimates. This allows intervention at the first sign of spoilage or infestation, greatly reducing grain wastage and greenhouse emissions, and saving the grain owner up to £60k per silo.
Crover’s Lorenzo Conti won the Smarter Future award for October’s Shell LiveWIRE this year, netting themselves a £5k cash prize. Not long after, they followed it up with a Wild Card Award win from Scottish EDGE. It’s no wonder they are winning awards left, right, and centre, as this is a valuable solution to a big problem. We look forward to seeing their next win!
