**Creative Arts Funding alert - closing date asap**

by Startacus Admin
If you have creative vision and work as an individual within the Performing arts, Dance, Music, Visual art, Creative producing sectors, then the 19th December is an important date.
This is the closing date for the Sky Arts Ignition: Futures Fund which is offering five young artists £30k each to fund their work for a full year. (in association with IdeasTap)
Recognising that there is an incredible amount of young talent in the arts today, but that keeping your head above water in these challenging times can be a tough job for many young artists - the 30k fund is designed to develop your creative practice and help take your work to the next level.
Sky Arts will also pair you with a mentor from Sky to help you develop your networks, skills and knowledge in the arts and the commercial sector, and support you through Sky’s platforms.
Looking for Applicants that can demonstrate how the fund will enhance the quality and ambition of their ideas and projects in ways that would not be possible without this support is key to this application. However taking a skim read over the terms and conditions - there appears to be nothing that should scare off a young artist (apart from them worrying about the quality of their work and application)
With 60% of the judgement call coming from the strength of the applicants creativity and only 10% from the application and the artists previous portfolio, it is good to see that the power of the applicants future ideas is a key criteria for this award.
There’s a few key criteria to apply and its a shame (like many funding pots) that the over 30’s cannot enter, but the intention of this funding pot appears altogether well intentioned, so Startacus thought only fair to give it a little free air-time.
Good luck for anyone who applies and check out the IdeasTap website for all the small print and detail...
