Competitive Start Fund - Based in Ireland and looking to fund your startup?
The latest call for applications to the Competitive Start Fund from Enterprise Ireland has just been made and with a closing date of 23rd January you will need to get your skates on if you want to apply.
The purpose of the Enterprise Ireland Competitive Start Fund is to accelerate the growth of startup companies that have the capability to succeed in global markets.
Specifically targeting the ICT & Industrial sectors this is a fund that is looking to support and create opportunities for businesses inside Ireland, whilst also focusing on the ones that have the potential for export development and growth outside of the Ireland also. With the Irish economy still at best finding its feet, this funding opportunity is a good place to start for some startups needing that extra bit of financial support.
There’s plenty of small print to look through on the Enterprise Ireland website, however in essence, the maximum support available is €50,000 for a 10% ordinary equity stake in the start-up company, and Enterprise Ireland seemingly (and understandably) appear keen to support those applications that can highlight what impact the €50K will have on their business and their plans going forward.
Although the criteria is quite detailed, the application process itself does seem pretty self explanatory - so we wish all of those early stage startups based in Ireland all the best when they apply. Remember the closing date is fast approaching - so don’t waste too much time if you haven’t looked already.
Good luck!
