Cognassist - helping diverse minds thrive

by Startacus Admin
Cognassist is a startup on a mission to help every individual reach their full potential in education and work and ensure that neurodiversity is embraced, every day.
Neurodiversity is a broad term that encompasses a broad range of ways of thinking, behaving, or learning, including Autism, ADHD, and dyslexia, among many others. Neurodiversity is finally being more catered to, meaning that the 1 in 7 people in the UK who are neurodiverse can be better supported all the way from their education through to the workplace. And by better supporting people in the workplace, they can flourish and be more productive, and that can only be better for everyone at every level.
UK startup Cognassist has built a SaaS platform based on extensive scientific research that helps to identify unknown learning needs in order to better support neurodiverse people. Since being founded in 2019, the startup has been focused on the education sector, but is now looking to expand and offer the platform to businesses as well, helping those employers to better support their employees. They state their goal as “We want to unlock a journey of self-discovery of your own mind, drive greater public understanding of our differences and give every individual an equal opportunity to succeed in education, work and life.”
Users complete a 30-minute digital assessment, which uses an evidence-based approach to identify and support different types of cognition, and then provides actionable insights into improving the individual’s education or work experience, along with personalised support tools. The startup gives extensive onboarding training to an organisation to help ensure that the business as a whole understands neurodiversity and is better able to be inclusive, and leaders and HR staff can be more supportive.
Cognassist recently announced that they had received £4 million in investment from VC Gresham House Ventures. This funding is what will allow the startup to take their education-based platform and start expanding employment so that employers can better support their neurodiverse employees.
