Chivas The Venture

by Startacus Admin
If you’re an aspiring social entrepreneur then this recently launched comp ought to be right up your street.
Chivas Regal are on the hunt for the most promising social entrepreneurs from all around the world to take part in The Venture. This global competition will see up to 20 of the most promising ideas and early stage startups being selected to take part in the overall final and have the opportunity to win a share of the $1million prize fund.
All ideas and startups will be assessed on five main criteria - Social Purpose, Viability, Scalability, Practicality and Credentials. In essence they’re looking for ideas and early stage startups where the focus is as much on social good as it is on succeeding financially.
The 20 finalists will be invited to a week-long event in Silicon Valley where they’ll not only get to meet some of the world’s leading tech companies, receive specialist mentoring and support but also get the opportunity to pitch for a share in a prize package worth some $1 million.
The lucky finalists will be announced in March 2015 and from them on the public will be able to both vote for their favourites and also help support them via crowdfunding on IndieGogo.
Hats off to Chivas Regal for helping get more startups off the ground - and in a pretty major way!
Fancy your own chances of becoming one of the lucky 20? Simply complete the application on The Venture site and then cross those fingers!
Good luck to any of you who do.
