Chilled drinks delivery service Drinkly tastes early success

by Startacus Admin
Chilled beers, wines and spirits delivered in one hour, thanks to Edinburgh-based tech startup Drinkly.
Alcohol is one of life’s delights. Depressant, dehydrator, arch-nemesis of our liver...it’s got it all!
But what if - and we hope you’re sitting down for this - you can’t get your hands on any?! Does your party run dry halfway through? Is all the glaring from the other parents at your child’s friend’s Birthday party getting too much?
Perhaps you’ve just got home from work on a hot evening, your Kung Po chicken is already on its way, but you are light on alcoholic beverages! What are you going to drink, water? Ha!
No, you pick up your phone or internet-connect wine rack, and you get freshly-picked alcohol straight to your doorstep, thanks to Edinburgh-based startup Drinkly who are here to save the day!
Thanks to, Drinkly all you need to do is input your postcode so that Drinkly can locate your nearest off-license, browse the wondrous wares, and the Drinkly drivers will pick up your order and deliver it to your shaking hands within an hour, or you can schedule the delivery for when you get home, and you can eagerly track it every step of the way. At checkout, you will choose your ID type and you will be ID’d by the driver as you would be in the off-license.
The taste of success...
Drinkly currently delivers to the Edinburgh bypass area, central Glasgow, and most recently, London.
In May, founder John Robertson was shortlisted for the ‘IoD Scotland Director of the Year - Start-Up’ at the IoD Scotland awards 2019.
In June, he wrapped up the weeklong Unlock Ambition programme, and we look forward to seeing how Drinkly puts to use the knowledge gained there, and where in the country they will spread to next...
