Campsited raises funding to help with growth plans

Irish startup Campsited secures funding to continue its mission to become the best and easiest way for people to find and book campsites
It’s time to look into the near future, at a time when we are free to travel once again. A time that might be hard to imagine at the moment, but that is nonetheless on its way. Once the world opens back up, we have a feeling there will be more holidays booked and embarked on than ever, with people needing a much-earned break from their front rooms and home offices.
For this idyllic peek into the fantastical world of leaving the house, we are ironically looking back: to a startup that we wrote about in 2017.
Irish startup Campsited was awarded Startacus’s Startup of the Week at the beginning of 2017 and went on to win second place in the Google Adopt a Startup Spring 17 programme later the same year. Coincidence?! Yes.
Campsited is a platform that allows users, as the name suggests, to find and book campsites and holiday parks. All you need to do is put in the country or region you want to go to and start looking, or you can narrow it down with dates, the number of adults and children with you, and by extra filters such as what facilities they have, star rating, food and drink, and whether they allow pets.
The last time we wrote about Campsited, they only had locations in the UK and Ireland, but now they list over 15,000 sites for tents, campervans, mobile homes, and even chalets across the UK, Ireland, Spain, France, Italy, and Belgium, with a handful of listings appearing for other countries as they continue to expand.
In March, the startup announced that they raised €600,000 in funding from Motley Fool Ventures and Enterprise Ireland. This will be used to grow further and to add more languages to the website so that people can more easily book holidays in their own countries. They also hope to raise a further €3 million in the coming months.
We always enjoy revisiting startups we’ve written about previously to see just how far they have come, and how much more valuable to people they are, and Campsited is a great example of this.
