Calling NI-based musicians and bands - apply for your video to be played at Work: In Progress

by Startacus Admin
Local musicians and bands in Northern Ireland! Here's a paid opportunity to have your video featured during the Work: In Progress hybrid event.
NI based musicians and bands are invited to submit their videos to be played at Work: In Progress, a one-day hybrid event, exploring the future of work and workspaces, talent planning, diversity, inclusion and social purpose and the hiring demands of the growing tech sector, which is taking place at The Mac, Belfast on 10th November.
Delivered by Startacus, a startup focused platform, programme and event facilitation company and with Version 1 and RealTime Recruitment confirmed as Major Sponsors, the 10th November event will encompass keynote speakers, panel discussions, as well as an opportunity to hear from NI and Irish tech startups with relevance to the event’s core themes.
During the 1 day event, Work: In Progress will feature video recordings from three local artists - solo performers or groups and in some small way celebrate what they do.
Alastair Cameron, co-founder of Startacus explained:
“We want to highlight that despite all the recent challenges, the NI music scene is still vibrant and strong! We know that the last year and a half has been particularly challenging for local musicians and whilst we may not be able to offer them the opportunity to play a live gig, we would like to provide a paid opportunity to showcase what they do, via a video performance that will be shown to both the live audience at The Mac and those watching online.”
So, If you are a musician or band from NI and you’d like to submit a video recording for consideration, here’s what you need to do:
- Submit 1 video of you performing an original track
Each video should ideally be 2-4 minutes in length max
File format should be .mov or .mp4
Startacus plans to feature 1 video from 3 artists over the course of the event so unfortunately they can’t promise that they will include yours. Please note, the technical quality of the recording will also be a consideration in the selection process and of course the more professional looking the music video that you have, the better.
Please submit your recordings via WeTransfer to iam@startacus.net by 11.59pm 27th October 2021. The Startacus team will aim to update all those who have submitted recordings by 3rd November 2021.
N.B. All featured artists will be paid £100 via Paypal or Bank Transfer if their videos are selected. All videos selected will remain the property of the artists and will be played by the Startacus team during the Work: In Progress event and also appear on the live stream that will go out via Zoom, Facebook Live and YouTube Live. The various sessions from Work: In Progress will be recorded and will be available for playback on YouTube and Facebook and artists should be aware that streaming quality can impact the video quality that will remain on Facebook and YouTube.
