Buzzer mobilises customers to review their restaurant experience on-location

by Startacus Admin
Buzzer is a new customer feedback platform that allows you to leave anonymous reviews about your restaurant experience while you’re still at the table.
The server presents the bill with a small tablet computer, which asks you questions on your experience in a smooth WhatsApp style chat flow. It takes less than a minute to complete, so it’s not like the boring online surveys! This allows the restaurant to collect feedback from those who might not be bothered to review them online at home, and it helps them understand their customers better.
Co-Founder Scott Simpkin says: “Everyone has conversations about the food, service, value and atmosphere at the dinner table and everyone has an opinion on their dining experience. But short of spying on tables, restaurants have no useful way of getting this information. They could instruct the servers to ask how everything is, but of course we’re English, so we’ll say everything is great even when it’s not!”
“We’ve found that giving the customer an opportunity to give anonymous feedback whilst paying the bill encourages them to help out the restaurant. We get 10x more feedback than online review sites or online surveys, and the customers genuinely love sharing their honest opinions on the service”
Buzzer properly launched their tablet service in December 2016, and there are now 5 sites using Buzzer’s feedback platform across London. They are also in talks with some well-known chains.
The most recent development incentivises good reviewers to publicly post their review online, which will help give restaurants back some control over their TripAdvisor and Google reviews. The ultimate goal, however, is to drag the mystery-dining industry kicking and screaming into the technological age!
Here at Startacus we look forward to hearing and seeing more on this customer feedback platform as it develops...
