Bupa’s Blue Table accelerator seeks innovative solutions to key customer challenges

Startups with focus on either insurance, health & care experiences, or well being change, read on - The Bupa Customer Lab is launching Blue Table, a 10-week programme that gives startups the opportunity to grow their business inside a global health and care company.
Bupa’s newly established Customer Lab has this week launched its new Blue Table accelerator programme, inviting startups and small businesses to partner with the company to tackle key customer challenges in insurance, health and care experiences and wellbeing change.
Blue Table accelerator will offer startups and small businesses the chance to pilot and test their ideas inside a global health and care company, while also giving them the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of the millions of customers Bupa serves worldwide.
Run in collaboration with corporate innovation specialist L Marks, Blue Table is the first project from Bupa’s new Customer Lab, which was recently established within the business to explore new ways of delivering high quality, comprehensive health and care services which meet customer needs in the digital age.

So what are Blue Table looking for?
As part of Blue Table, the Customer Lab is looking for pitches which deliver innovation solutions to key customer challenges in three key areas:
Next Generation Insurance – health insurance is changing as people’s needs and expectations around health and care access and protection continue to evolve. How can Bupa make insurance more accessible and flexible to all who need it? Maybe you have the answer.
Your Health Experience – Bupa pride themselves on providing care excellence in all their services. How can Bupa help people navigate their health, care and wellbeing to ensure they receive the best experience and outcome from it? Maybe you have the answer.
Healthy Behaviours – health and wellbeing are increasingly visible parts of our lives, however there is a lot of unclear and conflicting advice. How can Bupa support people in taking ownership of their own health and making the best decisions for themselves and their families? Maybe you have the answer.
There is also a wildcard category for startups and small businesses to showcase unique ideas and innovations in the wider health and care sector.

What’s on offer?
If chosen for the programme you can expect to benefit from:
- The opportunity to pilot your big ideas inside a global health and care company.
- Hands on mentoring by senior Bupa business leaders and tech experts.
- Access to Bupa’s head offices in central London and the chance to to work alongside the Bupa team to develop your ideas and business.
- The opportunity to collaborate with corporate innovation specialists L Marks, who will offer potential investment opportunities.
Timescales
- Applications are now open and close on until Thursday 15 June 2017.
- There will then be a pitch day on the 10th July 17, when shortlisted teams will have the chance to pitch to join the programme.
- Selected teams will then be notified, with the programme itself kicking off on 4th September 17, concluding with a Demo Day on 13th November 17.
