BrokerIQ closes funding for its mortgage and insurance broker solution

Belfast-based BrokerIQ secures investment to support growth and scaling of its innovative customer engagement solution for the insurance and mortgage broker industry.
Fantastic news from Belfast-based startup BrokerIQ with the announcement that it has successfully completed the first phase of a two phase seed funding round led by Symvan Capital. The platform will now enter into recruitment and scaling mode to build out its tech and customer engagement teams.
Led by Joanne Cole, who incidentally was one of the fab participants on our recent Exporting Founders programme, this innovative software company has created a customer engagement platform and app for the insurance and mortgage broker industry, which is now being rolled out across the market. The BrokerIQ platform aims to help brokers increase their efficiency and client retention by giving them the digital tools to offer clients a full digital experience.
Some of the services offered by BrokerIQ include the automation of policy renewal dates, sending automatic notifications to clients, and organising client data by uploading policies straight to the mobile app with cloud backup. It also allows brokers to communicate with their clients through voice and video messages and an in-app chat facility.
Explaining the inspiration behind BrokerIQ, Joanne said: “When I started working in the insurance industry, all I could see was data. Having come from a background of data analysis, I instantly wanted to take this data and organise it in a way that benefitted the broker and their customers. That is what BrokerIQ does - it provides brokers with a platform to communicate with their clients using different marketing tools to keep their clients engaged. For the insurance consumer, it organises all of their insurance data in one sleek mobile application.”
The BrokerIQ platform launched at DigitalDNA in September 2021, was one of the startups shortlisted for our Work: In Progress pitch competition in November 2021 and has been on an upward trajectory ever since. It has onboarded brokers at pace and has entered into technology discussions with a number of enterprise partners, corporate customers, and mortgage networks, some of which have thousands of brokers in their business.
And having been shortlisted in 2 categories for this year’s DigitalDNA Awards, namely Startup of the Year and Founder of the Year, it appears that there is lots more success on the horizon!
The BrokerIQ service is available as an app for both iOS and Android and also has a desktop version.
We're thrilled at this news for Joanne and her team and we reckon this is most certainly a startup that’s worth keeping an eye on!
