Bristol's Big Green Week

by Startacus Admin
Our Bristol startup month is well under way now here at Startacus.net. For those of you who are perhaps scratching your head in bewilderment, Bristol startup month is a whole month- long feature in which we have taken it upon ourselves to showcase the startups, exciting events, creative stirrings and general quirky goings on of the capital of the south west.
By a happy coincidence from June 14th to 22nd Bristol will be even more buzzing than usual as once again the city plays host to one of the UK's largest festivals of eco ideas, art and entertainment, namely the Big Green Week 2014.
Other cities are set to turn green with envy as Bristol is treated to over 150 events including inspiring talks, workshops, art, music, poetry, comedy and films.
BIG GREEN WEEK
In case the title hasn't already given the game away, The Big Green Week is an annual celebration of the environment aimed at spreading a message of eco-awareness and eco-friendly living without boring people to tears (as is the customary way).
What better place to go green for a whole week than Bristol which has been named European Green Capital for 2015, a recognition of its high environmental standards and continued efforts to encourage sustainable development.
As we have said there will be over 150 fab events taking place over the course of the month eco pop up shop, a recycled art exhibition, Bristol first snug home, the virtual home of 2015, an 80 mile sponsored cycle, a flower and butterfly tour and a drawing the dawn and a ‘net walking’ event. Most of the events are free and there will be stuff to keep everybody entertained whether you are an eco warrior or novice newbie!
For full details of everything that is going on pop yourself over to the Big Green Week website.
Also, why not check out some of the other stuff we have featured so far during our Bristol Startup month!
