Voom Pitch: a leading UK & Ireland pitching competition from Virgin Media Business is back. If you fancy pitching to Richard Branson and to win a share of £1million (€1.2million) in prizes, you'd better read on…
Voom Pitch gives UK and Irish startups the chance to pitch to Richard Branson and win a share of £1million (€1.2million) in prizes, and this year the good folk have also decided to head on a UK and Ireland bus tour, so that startups can alsp enter their mini pitch competitions and hopefully also pick up valuable tips from local and national experts.
Over the next few months the Virgin Media Business VOOM bus will head to Belfast, Birmingham, Cardiff, Dublin, Dundee, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Manchester, and Newcastle, with each stop welcoming local entrepreneurs to pitch their business ideas.
Is Voom Pitch for you?
We suggest you head on over to the VOOM application page to read over all the details, but to briefly summaries:
-
There are two categories to enter - STARTUP and GROW
-
You will need to pitch your idea or current business via video pitch format
-
You then have to (much like a popularity contest) campaign to gain enough of the popular vote to finish close to the top of the table so you can pitch to the boss (One assumes Richard Branson!) at #VOOMFest:The Grand Finale.
Here again is the link to the VOOM 17 page and we wish everyone well with their applications.
If you need help with pitching for VOOM or pitching your startup more generally you might want to read our previous tips articles on:

And if you are a high-growth potential startup and you haven’t already applied to upSTART 17 - the startup pitching event at DIGITAL DNA Belfast - you might be interested to know that thanks to Digital DNA more pitch slots have been made available. Startups can now apply until Friday 5th May 17 and the winner at upSTART 17 will win a valued £150k in prizes and support, including £10k hard cash.
