Bamboo, an Irish based app that lets you order lunch and coffee from all the best spots around you -
whilst skipping the queues, raises a €500k seed round from Enterprise Ireland and six private investors.
Launched approximately a year ago, Bamboo has done pretty well for it's first 12 months. They've partnered with 100+ restaurants and cafes in Ireland, seen monthly average order growth on their network of 25% since May, grown to two Irish cities (Dublin and Cork) and gone from two founders to a team of eight.
Lets take a step back. Bamboo is an app that lets you order lunch and coffee from all the best spots around you - and helps you to skip those pesky and time wasting lunch-time queues.
With the tap of a button, coffee and lunch are ready for you on arrival, and it makes picking up lunch and coffee a 60-second experience. There are no added fees for the user, and it’s super fast and there’s a great rewards program built in. There's also a business proposition to help with employee perks and offering corporate discounts.
Co-Founders Luke Mackey and Alan Haverty founded the company in 2016 after they finished college and launched their initial product in early 2017. The first funding came in the form of Enterprise Ireland's Competitive Start Fund in November 2016.
It’s still early days but Bamboo are already the largest mobile ordering marketplace in Ireland, in a sector that’s growing phenomenally fast. The €500k seed round from Enterprise Ireland and private investors will now allow them to accelerate geographical but also on their product build. Well drink to that - well coffee that is!
