Bag Yourself a Billboard- The 60 second small business challenge

by Startacus Admin
Here at Startacus we like to highlight any great startup opportunities that are kicking about – and whilst we know this one has been doing the rounds, we still felt it was worth mentioning for anybody that may have missed it.
Bag Yourself a Billboard is a great opportunity for small businesses or start ups to get some free advertising – it's what it says on the tin, you will get free billboard space for your company - 16th to 29th July 2014 in East London’s Tech City and all created for you by a top London design agency.
As well as that (if that ain’t enough!) you will get 1,000,000 online ad impressions served across a portfolio of 500+ sites - boom!
This competition is brought to you by Sage – one of the UK’s leading accountancy and payroll specialists. It has always had a well meaning attitude to the start up scene - so it seems only fitting that they are running this competition.
So what do I have to do to enter I hear you say?
It is simple enough; all you have to do is record a video pitch – no more than sixty seconds – explaining why your small business should win this great opportunity. So get practicing and getting your video face on too!
Here are a few things to keep in mind for your pitch
Your audience will decide in the first few seconds whether they like the video or not so try and hook them straight away – make the first shot fascinating. Let the audience know what they are watching. Outline the unique aspects of your business and why you should win. You can use props, the more original the better. Your video doesn’t have to be to a professional standard, it can even be recorded on your phone if you like.
A few things to note
In your video submission all material used – music, video or otherwise – must be original or the entrant must have express written permission from the artist. It must be an original video and not have been broadcast, publicly transmitted or displayed in any other medium prior to 24th March 2014.
For all the terms and conditions that matter please check on the website
The closing date for the competition is the 1st May - so may the first be with you (sorry). This certainly seems like a great opportunity – so much so that we here at Startacus would love some billboard space in London, where there is the potential for thousands of people to see it ....hmmmm we might even make our own video...
Lights, camera, action..
