axial3D - medical 3D printing

by Startacus Admin
Patient data made real! axial3D - The award winning startup that is leading the way in medical 3D printing for medical applications...

Northern Irish medtech startup axial3D is improving the quality of care hospitals can provide by enhancing existing practices and making 3D printing accessible to the entire healthcare sector - delivering personalized anatomical insights directly to a clinician using a combination of innovative software and expert services.
Bespoke products axial3D provide are designed to improve diagnosis and help plan a personalised treatment for each individual patient, improving their care while subsequently reducing resource burden on a hospital.
The workflow for getting these 3D models printed is simple. The clinician uploads MRI and CT scans directly using the startup’s secure online software. From these, 3D visualizations are created on-screen to allow the clinician to specify the area for printing and their preferred model construction. And that’s it. axial3D will process the data, create the bespoke 3D model, and deliver it to the hospital.
The startup has recently joined the Amazon Web Services Partner Network as a Select Technology Partner, meaning the flexibility, scalability, and pay-as-you-go features of AWS, can help keep costs low for customers, without compromising on power, speed and flexibility.
The awards are flying around axial3D headquarters at the moment. Founder and CEO Daniel Crawford recently won Young Person of the Year at 2019’s Digital DNA Awards in Belfast.
And, around the same time, axial3D itself won the Belfast heat of the Startup World Cup competition. This means they will now go on to San Francisco on 17 May for the Grand Finale and a chance at a huge $1,000,000 investment prize.
We think a startup helping to streamline processes and drive efficiency in hospitals can only go from strength to strength, and we’ll be keeping an eye out for their next handful of awards.
If, like axial3D, you are a Northern Irish based startup, take a look at upSTART 2019, the startup pitch competition that will take place at this year's Digital DNA in Belfast. Applications are now open. This year the competition features an all-expenses paid trip to explore the New York tech scene for the winning NI startup!
