An invitation to “self interview” and “guest write” for Startacus...
Who can take part?
At Startacus we are keen to give us much ‘airtime’ as possible to fellow self starters. Understandably not everyone can be featured, but we will consider every member who has a story to tell or some advice to share. The benefits of guest writing for Startacus are obvious - free exposure to an interested community of fellow self starters, the chance to tell everyone what exactly you are up to, plus a valuable link to your work or website that you wish to include.
Rules?
There are no rules on who can apply in terms of previous self starter experience. You may be a first time writer with a passion to share, or you may be an experienced entrepreneur, with a valuable lesson or tale to tell. The only rule in terms of applying is that you must be a signed up member of the site and having an active profile would certainly be advantageous!
Content?
We are not going to spell out what you have to write, nor the format and style of the content. But the content of the article is expected to inform, inspire, and encourage.
We are happy for you to sell in what you are trying to do - the product, the place, the service or the site that you need people to look at - but a blatant attempt to just sell your stuff to other members, without any attempt to write an informative and interesting article is a simple no no.
You could write your article as a simple questions and answers piece as if you are being interviewed yourself, or you could write a top tips article on a subject that you feel is relevant to our community.
You may include up to 3 links in your piece - website, facebook, twitter, etc etc, but there is no way you should try and include affiliate links!
If you have images (that are your own and you have copyright and distribution rights for) then please send if you think that they will add to the post. Pictures of you and your business etc are fine too!
Ideally do not go beyond 700 words. Sometimes, however good your content, people do not have the time to read essay length pieces!
Decisions and Timescales?
We will act as professionally as possible and expect you to respect our decision too. We will respond to your article and its suitability within a week, and if you have not heard back from us, please kindly send us a follow up email to iam@startacus.net to remind us.
Please note that even if your article is approved, depending on timescales for other content, it may well be that there is a delay in your article appearing on the site.
How to Apply?
Please apply to iam@startacus.net and highlight in the subject box that you wish to guest write for the site.
