Amuse launches ‘world first’ mobile record company Internationally

by Startacus Admin

What would a record company look like if it was created today and can the next global hit be found through algorithms? These are two key questions that Swedish based startup Amuse think they have answered, with their ‘world first’ mobile record company, that from last week, was available internationally for download.
Amuse charts completely new ground in the music industry, allowing unsigned artists to distribute their music via an app to digital platforms, with the then added opportunity to be signed based on data-tracking hit potential.
Amuse aims to provide free music distribution to independent artists around the world. Once an artist's music is available to listeners and fans around the world, Amuse use data to identify potential hit tracks and talented artists that we can help grow.
Once an artist's song is uploaded to Amuse, the song will within a few days becomes available on music streaming sites, and that’s point that the Amuse algorithms go to work.
By ‘tracking’ data, Amuse aim to bypass the traditional artist hunt through A&R - and once talent is algorithmically scouted, Amuse can then offer the artist a record deal that includes help with marketing, rights and strategy. The artist may also manage the launch themselves.
Talking talent - this startup is powered by five Swedish entrepreneurs, three of whom have high-level experience within the music industry. Diego Farias, was previously Digital Marketing Director at Warner Music; Andreas Ahlenius, previously Commercial Director at Universal Music and Christian Wilsson, worked as the Design Director for Spotify.
And Investors are already liking the sound of this music tech startup, with finance already provided to make sure this music tech and data startup, launches internationally with both capital and the talent behind it.
Writing on Medium last week about their launch, Diego Farias said;
“We have all seen firsthand the rapid pace of change that the music industry is undergoing. It’s unbelievably exciting to start an entirely new kind of record label that is resolutely digital and designed for the modern music consumer.”
Good luck Amuse - we are liking the sound of your ‘world first’ mobile record company (plus your branding rocks) and we look forward to hearing more on your journey as your business progresses.
