Amicable - divorce made easier

by Startacus Admin
Divorce. Grr...divorce. That about covers it, we think. Unfortunately, divorce sometimes becomes necessary, and it can get unpleasant. In the emotional maelstrom that accompanies the need for divorce proceedings, the last thing you want is for those proceedings themselves to be difficult and nasty. You want them to be...wait...Amicable!
Amicable offers a divorce service with a fixed price, which they say is simpler and faster than a typical divorce, and fairer for both parties, helping to minimise the inevitable pain of separation and deconstruction of family.
In typical divorces, the costs keep stacking up, so to have the certainty of a fixed cost gives you something stable in a time of uncertainty. It also saves you money, and does away with a lawyer potentially stringing things out in order to squeeze more money out of the situation.
Amicable’s technology-based approach makes things simpler, helping you both to agree on all aspects of a divorce, such as finances and parenting plans. Meanwhile, their support helps you prepare for the separation and coaches you on setting goals for the future and communicating in a way that facilitates fair agreements and less animosity.
With the help of QVentures’ network of angel investors, Amicable has raised £473,260 and closed their second round of funding with a group of angel investors that includes Stone Welch Capital. This funding will go towards expanding the business, helping even more couples going through divorce and separation, and continue to disrupt the existing divorce model.
We think Amicable is a welcome arrival to lessen the pain and trauma of a situation that affects more than 200,000 people in the UK every year.
