Ambition, a new pre-accelerator programme for female entrepreneurs in Donegal launches

Ambition, a pre-accelerator programme run by LEO Donegal and NDRC launches to help early-stage female founders from Donegal take business ideas from concept to pitch...

Twelve business ideas will be selected for the programme and participants will receive mentoring and support from NDRC and LEO Donegal to take their idea from concept to pitch. A series of workshops will be held during November and December and participants will have the opportunity to pitch for a cash prize of €10,000 in early December. All finalists will receive detailed feedback on their business ideas and pitches from NDRC’s Venture Investment Team and the showcase Judging Panel.
The programme is open to any female founder or co-founder who is a resident of County Donegal or part of the Donegal Diaspora within Ireland or elsewhere. Applicants should ideally be part of a team and have a concept for a new product or service in any sector although there is a focus on technology and digital solutions.
The criteria used to select participants will include scale of ambition, the size of the problem to be solved, early market understanding, a clear competitive advantage, feasible business model and strength and the diversity of the team.
Applications are now open and must be submitted before 23.45hrs on Sunday, 11th October. Best of luck to all who apply!
It’s great to see a new programme like this - we reckon the more support for female founders the better! That, in fact, was the thinking behind Impacting Founders, a new programme that we are facilitating in partnership with Young Enterprise NI.
This is a 10-week startup programme for Derry / North West and NI-based female founders, supported by Ulster Bank.
As well as providing key startup knowledge via local and international speakers, our aim is to help you build relevant business connections both in NI and beyond and ultimately to provide a legacy for future female founders in Northern Ireland.
