Alternative to Digital Detox asks you to stop Scrolling!

by Startacus Admin
Starting this Sunday the 10 day #StopScrolling Challenge asks you to embrace your relationship with Technology rather than Digital Detox and avoid entirely. Intrigued?

In recent times New Year Resolutions, alongside joining the gym and eating more healthily often include temporarily avoiding and even deactivating ones social media accounts - commonly phrased as a Digital Detox.
It is fair to say that for the majority our lives, how we interact, communicate, socialise and even procrastinate are often dominated with our connection and use of technology and social media. Admittedly a lot of this usage can result in mindless scrolling, dreaming, clicking and procrastination - scrolling being the key here to this latest New Year challenge - name the 10 day #StopScrolling Challenge.
The 10 day #StopScrolling Challenge
Starting this Sunday (10th Jan 2016) the 10 day #StopScrolling Challenge states that there will be no deactivation - you won’t have to sign out of your account, and no detox - scheduled device blackouts also aren't part of the challenge. To continue the ‘10’ theme each daily challenge will be for 10 minutes too.
But why? Well via the StopScrolling Challenge sign up page we learn:
“The Internet, social media and technology bring amazing things into our lives. We don't want to get rid of them. We just need to make sure they're making our lives better as we want them to.
Creativity, productivity, inspiration, optimisation - our tech is meant to work for us. And the 10 Day #StopScrolling Challenge will make sure it does. 2016 is all about building a healthy relationship with technology so that you can build that productive dream lifestyle.”
So ten days, ten minutes a day and ten (as far as we can see) positive challenges to help embrace, not get rid or detox our digital usage.
With four more days to go before the first day of the Challenge the organisers have been overwhelmed with sign-ups and Startacus look forward to hearing more (and maybe taking part ourselves!) from Sunday onwards.
You can sign up to the 10 day #StopScrolling Challenge here.
PS. in a rather paradoxical move, if you think the Stop Scolling Challenge sounds good - why not share this post so others can also find out about it too!
