Alchemy Technology Services, the Derry-based centre of excellence for insurance software implementation receives recognition for its commitment to diversity
Fantastic news from Alchemy Technology Services having just announced they have received the Bronze Diversity Mark from awarding body Diversity Mark NI. The award recognises Alchemy’s commitment to diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
John Colwell, CFO and Board Sponsor for Diversity and Inclusion said “We are delighted to have received the Bronze Diversity Mark. We believe it is our duty to proactively ensure that our people come from a range of backgrounds and experiences. As a tech company it is particularly important for us to ensure women are encouraged and supported to pursue a career in what has traditionally been a male dominated environment.”
Christine White, head of Diversity Mark NI added: “We are delighted to recognise Alchemy for their commitment to Diversity by awarding them the Bronze Diversity Mark accreditation.
Our independent assessment panel commended Alchemy on their enthusiasm to build a more diverse company and their application clearly met the standard for this accreditation with creative and challenging targets to address any barriers to unrepresented genders and build inclusive work environments to benefit all employees.
We congratulate everyone at Alchemy on this achievement and look forward to working with them on their Diversity journey over the next number of years.”
As part of the assessment process Alchemy submitted a detailed 3 year plan to advance gender diversity in their workforce.
Head of HR at Alchemy, Anne O’Neill said “Since our launch, we have been involved locally in programmes to support getting more women into tech and want to make this part of our diversity target as we recognise the importance of having more women in STEM subjects and going on to higher education to study Computer Science.
We recognise how the women in our organisation influence the dynamics of the group and we are lucky to have some very strong women who have taken control of their careers and are currently really adding value to our organisation. As we move forward with our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme this year, D&I will be a large part of this. As an organisation, we are committed to offering the same opportunities to all regardless of gender, race, religion and sexual orientation among others.”
