Airtime Rewards - spend and save

by Startacus Admin
You’ve got to spend money to...save money! Why pay for your phone bill when your favourite retailer can do it for you? Startup, Airtime Rewards, lets your favourite retailers pay for your mobile phone bill...
Phones are for so much more than just making calls these days - from shopping to watching funny cat videos to self-diagnosing what horrendous disease that mildly itchy nose must be, talking to people might be the thing we use our phones for least now. But one thing never changes: we still have to pay. Data and calls do not come free, and whether by a monthly contract or pay-as-you-go top up, phone usage will always cost us money. Unless we can convince the retailers that we shop with to pay our bills for us.
Manchester-based Airtime Rewards have decided that’s exactly what should happen. By teaming up with some of the best retail, restaurant, and entertainment chains, the startup gives users the chance to earn Airtime Rewards when you purchase with them using any registered Visa or Mastercard.
Because Airtime Rewards has made agreements with the UK’s major mobile network providers, these rewards can then be put towards your phone bill or other bonuses such as additional mobile data. This method of shopping and saving also benefits retailers, who will see more frequent visits from customers.
So you can buy new clothes, relax with a coffee, or watch a film knowing that you’re not wasting money on luxuries; you’re contributing to a reduced phone bill. There’s a difference.
Since the startup began, it has acquired £1m in investment, including £750,000 as part of the Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund. This funding will be used for infrastructure and to create 12 new jobs over the next year.
There is a large portion of our world accessible only through our phone’s screen, so it seems only sensible that we should finds ways like this to be rewarded and save money while we explore it!
So we call it - Airtime Rewards, will continue to grow.
